In anime/manga having self confidence in one’s skill is one thing but having Extreme Pride and Developing a personality that fuel your pride and cockiness is whole another dilemma. Below are the some of the most cocky and prideful characters of anime/manga.
.
1. Gilgamesh -

Gilgamesh is a character from the Fate series, and his personality is depicted as arrogant and cold. He is often portrayed as a powerful and confident individual who does not show much emotion. This may be because he is a king and is used to being in a position of power and authority, and is not used to showing vulnerability or weakness. Additionally, in the story, he is known for being immortal, so he might not think he needs to smile or joke around. But it’s important to remember that this is just a character in a story, and his personality is not meant to be taken as real or representative of all people. Gilgamesh’s attitude changes throughout the Fate series as he faces various challenges and interacts with different characters. In the first Fate/stay night visual novel, Gilgamesh is portrayed as a cold and arrogant character who is solely focused on his own desires and goals. He shows little regard for the lives of others and is willing to use extreme measures to achieve his objectives. However, in Fate/Zero, which is a prequel to Fate/stay night, Gilgamesh is shown to have a more complex personality. He is still arrogant and confident, but he also shows a greater degree of wisdom and insight. He is willing to work with other characters and even forms a bond with his servant, Enkidu. In Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works, Gilgamesh’s personality and motivations are explored further, and he is shown to have a deep-seated fear of death. He is also shown to have a desire for companionship and is willing to go to great lengths to find someone who can match his power .
2. Vegeta [ The Saiyan Prince ] -

Why does Vegeta have a big ego? Well, it stems from a few factors. Prince Vegeta is a Saiyan. Saiyans are naturally physical, competitive warriors. Vegeta is also a paragon and of royal blood. He achieved master-level combat skills and knowledge as a child. Seeing his power, King Vegeta (his father) took him under his wing and the two conquered (and destroy) planets for years. Now mind you, Vegeta did all of this before he hit puberty – and he wasn’t finished yet. Even as a child, Vegeta proved himself to be an outlier.
Vegetas probably the best developed character in the franchise, his rationale even if its not relatable is at least understandable and you can easily pity him for everythings thats happened. In a sense he’s a tragic character but by buu saga it turns into a happy ever after.

Escanor’s pride is a central aspect of his character in the anime and manga series "The Seven Deadly Sins." However, it is also suggested that Escanor’s double personality may have been developed by himself, as a result of the emotional trauma he experienced in his past. Escanor’s backstory is revealed in the anime and manga series, “The Seven Deadly Sins.” He grew up in a kingdom called Castellio, where he was constantly bullied and ridiculed for his weak and frail appearance. This caused him to develop a deep sense of shame and inferiority, which he tried to hide behind a meek and submissive demeanor. However, one day, Escanor encountered a mysterious wizard who bestowed upon him the power of “Sunshine,” which granted him immense strength and confidence during the day. With his newfound power, Escanor became more assertive and developed a prideful personality, which he used to assert dominance over his former bullies. However, the power of “Sunshine” also caused Escanor to become weaker and more timid at night, which only deepened his feelings of shame and inadequacy. Despite this, Escanor continued to use his power to protect those he cared about and to prove his worth as a warrior. Throughout the series, Escanor’s pride is a recurring theme, as he struggles to balance his newfound strength with his underlying feelings of inferiority and insecurity. Ultimately, however, Escanor learns to accept himself for who he is, both in his moments of strength and in his moments of weakness.
